Beloved independent bookstore Leelanau Books came under new ownership and approached us to reorganize and reinvigorate the space. The circulation was reworked to eliminate congestion and allow for easier browsing. New places to sit and read as well as a place for kids to read and play were added to encourage the community feeling of the store. The floors, ceilings, paint and lighting were all updated. New windows, new doors and cosmetic upgrade to the front facade were introduced to add more light and curb appeal. A back porch was added as a multipurpose space. The white oak timber frame and metal roof are filled in with operable shutters. It is a utilitarian space for activities such as book clubs and kids crafts.
