This house renovation on Big Platte Lake is transforming into a Northern Michigan family cottage. The interior spaces were reconfigured to create an open kitchen and living room large enough to hold the family and relatives that live around the lake. Our design brightened the interior and met the client’s eclectic tastes. A screen porch was turned into a three-season room to accommodate large family gatherings, plus a stainless steel sink and counter were installed in the utility room for cleaning fish. The exterior was reworked using lap siding, cedar shingles and industrial lighting to add cottage charm.
